Creative Loafing spotlighted Glenwood Park in two stories in its June 4, 2008 issue. One article focused on Glenwood Park’s “growing up” and featured an interview with Bartram Street resident Melanie Keane. The other story highlighted Glenwood Park’s EarthCraft homes.
The Sunday Paper crowned Glenwood Park the “Best New Subdivision” in Atlanta in its May 11, 2008 issue. The article highlighted Glenwood Park’s mix of uses, walkability, eco-friendly design and variety of housing types.
Atlanta Magazine featured Glenwood Park, its Brasfield Square bocce court and the annual Glenwood Park Bocce Tournament in an article about the resurgence of the game in the May 2008 issue.
Georgia Trend featured Glenwood Park in a major green building story in its April 2008 issue. The article focused on the eco-friendly site design of the project and highlighted the experiences of residents in Glenwood Park’s EarthCraft homes.
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles recognized Glenwood Park as an outstanding eco-friendly community in a feature story in the February 2008 issue.
The Glenwood Park Poolside Flats received the 2007 EarthCraft Multifamily Project of the Year Award in February 2008. The project and its award were featured on www.hgtvpro.com and www.customhomeonline.com in March 2008.
The AJC featured the Poolside Flats in a December 26, 2007 Business Section article. The story recognized the Poolside Flats as being Georgia's first condo complex to heat and cool units with geothermal systems.
In the 2007 Best of Atlanta Issue, Southern Voice editors selected Glenwood Park as the best up and coming "gayborhood" in Atlanta.
The AJC featured Glenwood Park’s Town Center and recognized its successful mix of condominiums and retail in a March 4, 2007 Homefinder article.
Glenwood Park received the regional ULI district’s top award and was recognized for exemplary resourceful land use, preservation of environmental resources, creative development team management, economic/market success, innovative design and planning features, fulfillment of a special societal need, and overcoming difficult obstacles to development.
The Georgia Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors selected Glenwood Park Town Center for its Award of Excellence, recognizing outstanding construction and development.
National Public Radio (NPR) featured Glenwood Park in a program about New Urbanism, focusing on the environmental and community building features of the neighborhood. NPR centered the story around the townhouse residents on Bartram Street and the camaraderie inspired by the building and streetscape designs.
Glenwood Park and its EarthCraft townhouses were part of a story on ABC World News Tonight featuring the growing interest in sustainable building in the United States.
The Atlanta Regional Commission presented Green Street Properties with its top honor, the Development of Excellence Award, for Glenwood Park in November 2005.
Organic Style featured Glenwood Park as one of the 10 “Best Places to Live” in its February 2005 issue.
Glenwood Park received the EarthCraft House Development of the Year Award in 2005. Glenwood Park was recognized for its progressive site design, high-performance homes, residents’ involvement in community life, and connecting the development to transportation and business districts.
P.E.D.S. selected Glenwood Park as its 2005 Best Pedestrian-friendly New Development. P.E.D.S. called Glenwood Park “a compact, mixed-use development that is a delightful place to walk and provides a model of smart growth for the region.”
The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association awarded Glenwood Park the prestigious Gold Professionalism Award for Community of the Year in November 2004.
Creative Loafing featured Charles Brewer/Green Street Properties as its 2004 Readers’ and Critics’ Choice for Best Real Estate Developer. The article highlighted Glenwood Park’s mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly design, along with its storm water retention pond and energy-saving homes.
The Georgia Urban Forest Council recognized Glenwood Park for its outstanding community and green space design and the impact of Glenwood Park’s trees and green spaces on water quality, stormwater management, heat island mitigation, energy efficiency and neighborhood livability.
At its 10th anniversary of Eco-Benefête, the Georgia Conservancy honored Charles Brewer as the 2004 Distinguished Conservationist for his work on Glenwood Park. Green Street Properties was recognized for setting the highest standards of new urbanism and smart growth in its creation of beautiful, walkable, exciting urban neighborhoods through thoughtful development and responsible stewardship of natural resources.
Glenwood Park received the prestigious international Charter Award from the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) for neighborhood design excellence.
P.E.D.S. gave Green Street Properties a Golden Shoe Award for pedestrian-friendly activism for designing Glenwood Park to be a walkable, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood.
