The Glenwood Improvement Team seeks to make Glenwood Avenue -between Moreland and Boulevard- into a gateway for our neighborhoods and local businesses. We seek to do this by improving the conditions of our avenue so that it is safer and more pleasant and easier to use for all modes of transportation: Joggers, Strollers, Bikes, Cars, Pedestrians, Dog Walkers etc.

We have also presented at the various neighborhood meetings: SAND, GPNA, NPU-transportation, EACA etc.
We also held our 1st design workshop on January 26th, 2008 and plan to hold our 2nd Design Workshop on Saturday April 19th, 2008 from 10:30am-12noon - at Southside High School.
We envision the improvements to Glenwood Avenue working with and tying into our neighborhood's Moreland LCI as well as the Beltline Initiative. The Moreland LCI works North South, while ours will work East West- and touch onto the Beltline. We see the Glenwood Avenue Improvements really creating a gateway for our neighborhoods, and a sense of place for us to use.
Glenwood Avenue has the ability to tie many wonderful aspects of our neighborhoods together: The Zoo, Grant Park and The Pool at Grant Park, The Boulevard and Cherokee Avenue Businesses, The Glenwood Park Businesses, The Glenwood Pool and Park, The East Atlanta Village businesses, our Local Library and Post Office and Brownwood Park.
