Green Street Properties, Mayor Shirley Franklin, city officials, neighbors, local celebrities and other honored guests participated in the Grand Opening Celebration for Glenwood Park and the Southern Living Idea House.

Mayor Shirley Franklin released one of two hawks at the Glenwood Park Grand Opening. Charles Brewer released a second hawk. Both birds will receive free accommodations overlooking Glenwood park in return for hunting and aerobatic performance responsibilites. Festivities included children’s activities, featuring:
Environmental Education and Activities, Puppetry,
Music, Moonwalk, Magic Shows and Face Painting.
Other activities included:
A special dance performance by Moving in the Spirit.
Live raptor display and lecture by a wildlife expert.
Tours of the Idea House throughout the day.
(Tours cost $10. Proceeds benefited Earth Share of Georgia.)
"Special Offer for Licensed Realtors" - Any licensed realtor with a ligitamate business card who brings one or more paying guests with them may visit the Idea House as often as they like at no charge to themselves.
Directions:
From I-20 East, take Exit 59B. Go right at the top of the ramp onto Bill Kennedy Way (formerly the Glenwood-Memorial Connector). Make the first left turn onto Faith Avenue.
