The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy is the nationally accredited children's advocacy center serving Fulton and DeKalb Counties. The Center works with law enforcement, child protective services, and the district attorney's office to provide a coordinated response to sexual abuse. Trained staff conduct forensic interviews of alledged victims, recording the interviews to reduce the number of people to whom a child must disclose his or her abuse. Free crisis counseling, resource & referral services, and abuse-focussed psychotherapy are available to all clients, as well as a clothes closet. The Center facilitates multidisciplinary case reviews with all team members (law enforcement, DFCS, DA, medical provider, and others). The Center also provides training for adults across the state of Georgia to prevent sexual abuse, with the goal to reach 1 million adults by 2020.
