Pool Rules & Regulations



2021- GWPP-Modified Rules, Regulations and Operating Procedures - COVID-19
I. Hours of Operation

  1. The pool is open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week.
  1. Members must make an online reservation to access the facility.  Members are prohibited from entering the facility without a reservation. 
  1. One reservation time slot is allowed per day, per household.
  1. When the reserved time slot has ended, members ARE REQUIRED TO clean their area and exit the premises. 
  1. All members wishing to access the facilities will be required to have a waiver on file for each adult on their membership. Only members who have signed waivers will be allowed access to the amenities during their reserved time slot.
II. COVID-19 Safety Rules
  1. Pool and staff members are required to follow all CDC Guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19 while visiting the pool. 
  1. Wear a mask when entering the pool area, in the bathrooms, and walking along the pool deck. Masks are not permitted in the pool.  
  1. Stay 6ft apart from others.
  1. Wash hands often with soap and water.  
  1. Pool and staff members are not permitted to enter the pool area if experiencing any of the following symptoms associated with COVID-19:  fever, chills, muscle or body aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, sore throat, fatigue or tiredness, headache, shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.   
  1. Any pool or staff member who tests positive for COVID-19, and has visited the pool or the gym within 2 days of becoming ill, or within 10 days of testing positive if Asymptomatic, is required to notify the Board immediately. The board will conduct contact tracing in accordance with CDC guidelines. The pool or staff member will not be allowed to return to the pool until cleared by the board in accordance with CDC guidelines.  
  1. Any pool or staff member that has been exposed to a person that has or is suspected to have COVID-19 is not permitted to enter the pool and must notify the pool board of the exposure immediately and will not be permitted to enter the pool area for 10 days from the last exposure date. 
  1. If anyone in the pool or staff members' household becomes ill, the entire household will not be permitted to enter the pool and must notify the board of the exposure immediately. The pool or staff member will not be allowed to return to the pool until cleared by the board in accordance with CDC guidelines.  
  1. Members will be required to bring their own chairs until further notice.
  1. Members must use hand sanitizer prior to entering the pool area. 
  1. NO GUESTS will be permitted until further notice. Only members listed within the household will be given access to the pool. This includes babysitters, nannies, and swim instructors. 
  1. All household members over 18 years of age must sign a waiver and list all minor members within the household.
  1. Please maintain 6 feet for social distancing on the pool deck and in the pool. 
  1. We will be limiting occupancy to enforce social distancing requirements.
  1. No parties will be allowed until further notice.
  1. Small floats, kickboards, and toys are allowed for personal use only.
  1. Snacks and beverages brought from home are permitted at the pool, but NO food deliveries will be permitted, until further notice.
  1. There will not be a Lost and Found at the pool this year.  Items left behind will be discarded at the end of the day.
  1. Members not adhering to the above COVID-19 policies and procedures will immediately be called before the board and the board will determine if such incident justifies suspension of his or her membership
III. Safety Rules
  1. Children must be accompanied by an adult while they are on the pool deck or in the pool.
  1. GLASS IS PROHIBITED AT THE POOL. No glass or breakable containers are allowed within the pool or picnic areas at any time or during any event. In the case that glass is broken at the pool, it will be closed for a minimum of 48 hours and will be completely drained and cleaned. The cost will be incurred by the Member responsible or covered by increased annual dues for all Members.  
  1.  Swimming is at the individual’s risk. There is no lifeguard on duty.
  1.  The water is shallow; therefore, no diving is permitted.
  1.  One lane will be reserved for lap swim at all times. If a swimmer would like to use the lane, all members must exit the lane.
  1. No vehicle of any kind is permitted in the pool area. This includes, but is not limited to: bicycles, skateboards, skates, motorcycles, roller blades, etc.
  1.  Children under the age of fourteen (14) must be accompanied by an adult (16 years of age or older) in the pool area at all times. 
  1.  Playing with the pool safety equipment is prohibited.
  1.  Pets are not allowed inside the pool or picnic areas at any time.
  1.  Running, rough horseplay, acrobatics, or pushing within the pool area is strictly prohibited. For safety purposes, inebriated persons posing a danger to themselves and others will be asked to leave the pool area. Members of the Pool Board are authorized to request that a Member and/or his/her guest(s) leave the pool area when, in the opinion of the Board Member, the conduct of the Member and/or his or her guest is in violation of the rules and regulations contained herein or is unduly disturbing to others in or around the pool area.
  1.  Each person must shower before entering the pool.
  1.  Pool users shall avoid washing dirt and debris into the pool.
  1.  After using the pool, Members shall remove any trash or litter. The litter and trash shall be placed in the appropriate receptacles. All towels, personal chairs and personal possessions shall be removed after use of the pool area.
  2. The Glenwood Park Pool Community Association, Inc. (the “Pool Association”) is not responsible for any personal items left in or around the pool area.
  1.  The playing of radios and other audio equipment shall be done in such a manner so as not to interfere with the use and enjoyment of the pool area by other Residential Unit Owners, Occupants and guests.
  1.  No one is allowed to climb on the wall enclosing the pool area or on the stacked pool furniture.
  1.  All children not fully potty trained must wear swim diapers or rubber pants over a diaper. Regular diapers which are not reinforced for swim purposes are not allowed inside the pool. Do not dispose of soiled diapers in the pool area.
  1.  The pool is a non-smoking environment and any smoking that occurs must be in the parking lot at a minimum of 15 feet away from the entrance of the building.
  1. Members not adhering to the above safety regulations could face a fine or suspension of his or her membership. 
IV. Fitness Room
  1. The fitness center is only open to one household at a time
  2. Members must make an online reservation to access the gym and must exit the premises after the time slot is over
  3. Members will be required to sanitize equipment before and after use
V. Parking
  1. Users of the facilities will share a designated number of spaces to the north of the pool, and these spaces will be labeled accordingly. Please DO NOT park in or block spaces labeled for CONDO RESIDENTS. Pool users may also use the on-street parking spaces near the pool.
  1.  Loading and unloading is permitted in the parking lot behind the pool building. However, parking is restricted to designated spaces adjacent to the mailboxes and are to be occupied for up to 10 minutes only.
  1. There is no parking allowed in the spaces reserved exclusively for condominium residents in the building. Cars parked there without the appropriate parking tag can be booted or towed at the owners’ expense.
  1. Condo owners and their guests may not utilize parking spaces designated for pool members, except for the times between 10p.m. and 8a.m.
  1. Parking overflow for the pool is not permitted in the private alleyways. Additional parking spaces can be found on Faith Ave. around Brewer Park near the children’s playground and/or pond.
