COVID-19 FAQs


1. What are the procedures if a member shows signs or symptoms of COVID-19 during or after visiting the pool?
If any member shows signs during, or after their visit, we ask that they leave the facility and contact the pool board immediately. We recommend seeking out testing for COVID-19 in both situations. It is important that you return home to start the self-isolation and recovery process. A member that has been exposed or that is showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be required to present a negative diagnostic test result to the Pool Board before returning to the facility. If diagnostic test result comes back positive, you will be required to follow the isolation guidelines for Georgia.

In both scenarios, we will contact those who came in direct contact to a known case of COVID-19 by using the reservation system but we are unable to share specific information about the identity (name, age, or gender) of any confirmed case. We ask that you respect the privacy and identity, per federal requirements, for anyone with a confirmed or suspected case of the virus.
 
2. What are the Guidelines for anyone that has a confirmed case, suspected case of COVID-19, or been exposed to someone that has a confirmed case of COVID-19?

3. What if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the COVID-19?

You generally need to be in close contact with a sick person to get infected. Close contact includes:

  • Living in the same household as a sick person with COVID-19;
  • Caring for a sick person with COVID-19;
  • Being within 6 feet of a sick person with COVID-19 for about 15 minutes; OR,
  • Being in direct contact with secretions from a sick person with COVID-19 (e.g., being coughed on, kissing, sharing utensils, etc.).

Anyone who has been at risk of exposure to COVID-19 may be contacted by your local health department, and the association will work with the local health authorities as needed. If you are concerned about possible exposure to COVID-19, please reach out to your primary care provider or local health department. For your safety and others in the community, please monitor your health for 14 days from your last possible exposure to COVID-19, and that you remain at home, avoid public activities, and practice social distancing.
 
4. What if you do not feel comfortable going to the pool because of the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19?
Only those willing to assume the risk of possible exposure to COVID-19 should use the facility. 
 
5. What happens when the Board is notified of a suspected case or positive case or COVID-19?
If there is a confirmed, suspected case, or known exposure to COVID-19 for any member or staff member, the Board will immediately meet in an Executive Session and begin the process of addressing the situation. We will take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the community and alert anyone that was in contact with the individual in question.
