  • Reminder: The purpose of the monthly general GPNA meeting is for GPNA officers/committee chairs, local organizations, elected officials, etc. to provide brief updates to the community. In-depth discussion occurs at the committee level.
  • Zone 6 update: Sgt. King
    • See something. Say something campaign. Email [email protected]
    • Would like feedback  on what to focus on during the holidays since he has been with Zone 6 for only 2 months
    • Pay attention to your surroundings and hide presents from view in your car
    • 8th annual toy drive: Drop off at 2025 Hosea L. Williams Dr on Dec 11. Contact Emily Hart at [email protected] for more information
  • 2020 GPNA officer election results
    • Laura Keen was elected by majority vote to be the 2020 President
  • Leslie Grant, District 1 Board of Education (404-643-9652)
    • Contact her for her community coffee sessions and schedule
    • Working on the 5 year strategic plan
    • Still searching for a new superintendent
  • Mary Naoum, Program Manager Atlanta/Fulton County Pre-Arrest Diversion Initiative (www.prearrestdiversion.org)
    • 2 year initiative to help perpetrators get long term help and expanding to Zone 6
  • Mitsah Henry for Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr
  • 5th Annual GA HOA Boot Camp @ GICC – 11/9, 8:00am-4:00pm
  • GPPN update (www.GrantParkParents.org): Denise
    • Winter Wonderland: 12/14 from 4-6pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Carnival style event
    • Collected more than 200 pounds of candy for our overseas troops
    • Candlelight Tour of Homes 12/14 and 12/15 from 6-10pm
    • Next activity is in Jan/Feb for pre-school/k forum

  • Prosecutor Lamar has retired and no new replacement to date
  • Hearing set for 12/4 for robbery that occurred in Jan 2019
    • Motion to approve $1,000 to increase support of GPSP for more patrol hours during the holidays

  • Norma Nyhoff provided an overview of what Nicholas House does and asked for a letter of support from GPNA to request a grant from the Stadium Neighborhoods Community Fund. Approved

Homes & History – Paul Simo ([email protected];)
  • Tip of the month – Our old windows let cold in so keep your house warm by using curtains that go to the floor
Land Use and Zoning – Rick Hudson ([email protected])
  • Gateway update: Material work should be complete by the end of the year and they turn it over to the city to begin the punch list. Anticipated opening in the 1st quarter of 2020. An RFP is out for the restaurant bid.
  • V19-246: 284 Milledge wants a variance on the lot coverage to 54%, which was approved in committee. Approved by body
  • 891 Cherokee Ave (Healthy Hound) Wants to be rezoned to NC-7C in lieu of R5 to align with the actual use of the building. In immediate neighbors process
  • Neighborhood parking: Rick will send an email to our list to ask folks to get engaged and will put in the Porch Press. City wants at least one season of parking data to quantify the impact of the Gateway opening and then there will be discussion with the neighbors. Metered parking hasn’t been discussed in the City
