    • Michelle Kirby nominated herself for President

      1.  Lantern Parade is October 20th and will start at the Milledge Fountain
      2. Milledge fountain restoration is almost complete

Public Safety Committee Chair, Chris Newman
  • Zone 6 APD update:  Reported crimes are significantly lower now than last year
  • Zone 6 Community Prosecutor: Keith Lamar, [email protected], 404 612-7012
  • Neighborhood Watch Update
  • Memorial Dr. corridor still experiencing vehicle break-ins, leave nothing in your car
  • House in the Park:
    • Parking was still an issue and going forward, will require them to pay for more security and parking enforcement officers
  • NPU-W meets on Wednesday nights
  • Trestle Tree Security Upgrades:
    • Fixed gates, added security cameras but need to be held accountable for their promises
 
Philanthropic
  • Nicholas House – Norma Nyhoff
  • GPNA Annual Sponsorship Nicholas House Adopt-a-Room paid after last month’s approval
  • Seeking engagement from neighbors for possible donation ideas
  • GPNA looking to host a neighborhood dinner possibly in November
  • Nicholas House has tours every Saturday

  • Grant Park Gathering Update- very successful, over 60 neighbors showed up
  • Next Gathering will be in November
  • Now in charge of Sunbursts – Order one today and have it by Friday!

Homes & History
  • Design Regs. Benefits & Ramifications (262 Ormond Demo)
    • The house was demolished over Labor Day weekend without permits or approvals, if you see something like this say something.
    • There has been contact with the city about the demolition and they will likely take  legal action
  • Call in suspect work, material removal or work:  Matt Adams in planning ([email protected]) or Office of Buildings to send an inspector.  Please contact the Office of Buildings at 404.330.6150 -- any neighbor can call!!
  • Preservation Tip of Month: Gutters & Storm Prep
Land Use and Zoning (including Transportation and Transit)
  • Gateway Project: Presentation on the GPNA website
  • 385 Grant Circle: townhomes- pass unanimously
