  • Welcomed everyone, explained the agenda and open floor rules, and voting eligibility
  • Thank you to Zoo Atlanta for allowing the use of the building for the meeting
  • Next meeting is Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 7:30pm
  • New member welcome and introductions
  • Stephanie Warner: Ormond-Grant Park will get new park. It will be ADA accessible and dog friendly
  • Elections for 2016 GPNA officers approved unanimously
  • Elections for 2016 NPU repreentatives elected with one objection
  • Education
    • Maynard Jackson High School: 
      • Overview of IB program
    • Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School: Elayna Wilson
      • First term of the year has finished
      • ANCS is completing application for IB program
  • Grant Park Conservancy Update
    • Conservancy's Alisa Chambers is on maternity leave
    • Current membership drive allows you to receive an oak leaf ornmaent for joining
  • GPPN Update, Kristen Silton
    • Holiday Toy Drive  - Gifts can be dropped off at Winter Wonderland or at 585 Cherokee Ave SE
    • Winter Wonderland on Dec 12, 4-6 pm, St. Paul
    • PreK Kindergarden forum is being planned

  • You can volunteer for neighborhood watch by emailing [email protected]
  • Trip to 911 Center was a success
  • You can complete Smart 911 form to ensure emergency response has address linked to your cell phone
  • Zone 6 APD update - Captain Gourley, New Zone 6 Captain
    • Main crime is vehicle break ins, keep your car clean to help minimize those incidences
    • Shed and crawl space burglaries are also common, so keep those secure
       
Transportation, Jim Vorix
  • Motion approved unanimously to support ANCS Safe Routes to Schools resolution
  • Motion approved unanimously to support resolution on Bill Kennedy Way accidents

Land Use and Zoning, Rick Hudson
  • Arts Exchange plans are in due diligence period
  • Glen Castle Project Mentioned in Creative Loafing- We are asking that they attempt to preserve all three buildings
  • Grant Park Gateway Project Update
  • 1040 Grant Street Update
