  • Welcomed everyone, explained the agenda and open floor rules, and voting eligibility
  • Thank you to Zoo Atlanta for allowing the use of the building for the meeting
  • Next meeting is Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 7:30pm
  • New member welcome and introductions
  • Traffic Study Resolution approved by a vote of 28-1-1
  • Trees Atlanta, Alex Beatley
  • Education
    • SEACS (Southeast Atlanta Communities for Schools) will host an IB townhall meeting on Thurs, Sept. 17, 7pm, Maynard Jackson HS
    • Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School is hosting a yard sale on Sat, Sept. 19
    • King Middle School - Erica Nimmons & Shevon Howard
      • King won attendance record with 91% attendance
      • In process of getting an IB program
  • Grant Park Conservancy Update
    • Explanation of large events and permitting process. Permits are handled through city. If you see rules broken, call 9-1-1 to report.
    • Lantern Parade, Oct. 23, 6 pm

  • Mothball event planning in works. It will be held on Nov 14 at Rec Center

  • Sept. 27 is Atlanta Preservation Center discussion on Leo Frank lynching
  • Concern expressed for large events not being permitted correctly by city
