We are in the middle of a
Grant Park Security Patrol (GPSP) membership drive!
There is only one week left to make our goal of matching
Rob Smith's generous $5000 challenge donation!
If we can raise $5000 (approx 29 new annual members) Rob will match us DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR. We gained 5 new or renewed members over the weekend (thank you so much!), and we are over 60% of the way to our goal.
Here are a few things to know about the GPSP and why you should consider joining:
- Our #1 goal is to reduce daytime residential burglaries. Since the GPSP's inception, daytime burglaries have been reduced by 80%.
- Membership fees pay for off duty City of Atlanta police officers to patrol our neighborhood during the times that crime statistics find our homes to be the most vulnerable. They have full arrest rights and monitor the 911 calls which results in a faster response time.
- We constantly evaluate those crime patterns and adjust where and when patrols should be.
- As a member of GPSP, you can request your home be checked on by one of our officers while you are on vacation.
- Nearly every penny of your membership fee goes directly to paying for patrols. We have very low overhead as we are a 100% volunteer run organization.
From our schools, to our active neighborhood association, to our awesome parents network, and of course our beautiful park this neighborhood is a great place to live because so many of us choose to help make it that way.
