Piano Lessons - Rebecca Puckett - Ormewood School music teacher

About the teacher:

Originally from Williamsburg, Virginia, Rebecca began her music studies on the piano at age 6. Subsequently, she has participated in all manner of musical groups throughout her school career and beyond including choruses, bands, and musical theatre, singing and playing piano, trombone, mallets and guitar. She came to Atlanta in 2002 to attend Oglethorpe University. She graduated from Georgia State in 2006, spent a year in Japan, and returned to Atlanta to teach at the Ormewood School. She is currently pursuing a degree in music education from Georgia State University. Rebecca Puckett taught music at The Ormewood School from 2007 - 2009. During her time there, she produced 3 original stage productions and wrote several songs. Her experience with the children at the school lead to the creation of Marshmallow Avenue, a children's music group currently working on its first CD and performing around Atlanta.

About the lessons:

Lessons are comprehensive in nature including all elements necessary to play, learn, and understand music. Dedicated students will acquire proficiency in technique, notereading, theory, eartraining, literature along with opportunities for individual creativity in improvisation and songwriting. Lessons can also be tailored to a student's particular needs. All students will be exposed to a broad expanse of music across all categories. Group lessons and performance opportunities are available and encouraged, but not required.
