After careful consideration and research, the GPCP Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to keep GPCP closed through the summer in order to best maintain the health and safety of our families and staff. This was not an easy or even unanimous decision, but after surveying both family and staff opinions and considering current guidelines for child care centers, the board ultimately voted to cancel summer camp.

Candace and a subcommittee from the Board of Directors are working hard to come up with plans for a safe reopening in August with the hopes to offer two limited mini camps prior to our full reopening. We are considering the changes we will need to make to GPCP’s procedures and schedules in order to safely bring children and educators back to the building as well as comply with additional Bright From the Start and CDC guidelines.
As stated previously, we are happy to return your summer camp deposits given the cancellations. If you would like, we can also keep that money on your account to go towards enrollment and other fees. We would also like to encourage you - if you are able - to consider giving the deposit as a donation towards the school’s reopening. While we have now secured a small business loan to help with rent and payroll expenses, a safe reopening will come with many additional expenses and any donation will help us secure the resources we need.
